Videos, pictures, Derby rules

Thanks to everyone in Den 6 for making our December pack event a success. A highlight of the evening was watching the top three popcorn sellers hit committee members in the face with a pie. You can see video of the three pie-throwers in action below.

If you did not get your Pinewood Derby car from your den leader, please contact them for your kit. If you did not get a copy of the Derby Guidelines, you can download them here.

Popcorn! December Pack meeting!

Our awesome Popcorn Kernel shared this photo of his garage at popcorn pick up time:

We hope your scout has received all of his popcorn and is busy delivering it and collecting payment.

Please note that we’ve changed the date of our December pack meeting from Saturday to Thursday, December 15. Details are as follows:

The December Pack Event will be held on Thursday December 15 th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Farms Intermediate’s multi purpose room (581 Taylor Road Brighton, MI 48114). This will be, for lack of a better term, a normal indoor pack meeting with a community service theme. We are asking that people bring donations for a local animal shelter i.e. unopened food, bedding (new or used blankets, towels, etc…), or toys. We will start with a flag ceremony, there will be a Christmas Carol sing along led by Den 6, then den awards, followed by Elder-Beerman and popcorn awards, a small service projects for the dens to work on, then the closing flag ceremony. We will most likely be requesting some other items from the dens as well, I will get that information out as soon as I can.

Pinewood Derby 2011

Pinewood Derby time is almost upon us. We had a location change and the race and check-in will be at Creekside Elementary this year instead of Village Elementary.

Car check-in is from 6:00-8:00p on Friday, March 25.

Derby Day begins at 10:00a on Saturday, March 26.

We will have food available for purchase during the race.

All scouts that show up dressed properly in their Class A uniform will be entered in a raffle to win prizes.

During the tabulation of the final race results, scouts will have the chance to work on a belt loop in the gym. Please have your scout bring or wear a pair of sneakers.

Derby rules can be found here: Pinewood_Derby_Rules_2011

Good luck on your cars, hope to see you at the races!
