Did you hear
the GSTC Council Camporee in 2007 is going to be at Michigan
International Speedway? We will be looking at everything that it takes
to 'Lead The Race' from the technology behind those racing machines,
to the actual operation of an International Speedway, to the physical
and mental abilities a driver requires.
This event is
big enough to bring in some activities that normally do not appear at
a local camporee. There will be a Saturday Program for Cub Scouts and
their families, featuring BB Gun Range, Archery, and Rocketry.
The Boy Scouts will be using their bicycles in all kinds of
races throughout the weekend; plus race RC Cars on an off-road dirt
track. Venturers will participate in a Road Rally and an impaired
driving simulator. And everybody will get to explore the two midways
of other fun activities.
The Speedway is
huge; there is lots of room for camping. Cub Scout Families will also
be able to reserve a campsite to extend their weekend experience. Boy
Scout Troops and Venturing Crews will have plenty of space to campout
for the weekend as we are having several large sub camp areas. In this
giant tent city you will meet other scouts from all over Lower
Michigan, Northern Ohio, and Eastern Indiana. Bring your patches to
trade.
Information
packages are available on the Camporee Website. We will have several
surprises to enhance the weekend experience, so sign up for the
monthly email updates to get all the inside information, Early Bird
Registration Perks, and when to Start Your Engines.
